Udupi: In a tragic incident, two members of a family lost their lives while fishing in the Ubrelu Gundi pond at Shirlalu village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Ajekaru police station in Udupi district. 

Harish Poojari (48) and his nephew Ritesh (18), residents of Shirlalu, met with a fatal end during their fishing expedition. 

The mishap occurred when Ritesh found himself in distress in the water, prompting Harish Poojari to attempt a rescue. 

Tragically, both succumbed to the water, marking a sorrowful end to their lives.
